The Magician’s Nephew is an interesting story about trust, friendship and discovery. C. S. Lewis does an amazing job of making the reader feel as if they are in the story through the use of vivid imagery. The author also uses important messages in order to convey the plot of the story, while at the same time, keeping the story simple enough for everyone to understand. Fans of drama, fantasy and mystery will enjoy this book. While this book was written a while ago, many of the themes present are relevant to today’s society, and the story it tells is timeless. Overall, this book was good! @avidreader16 of the Teen Review Board at the Hamilton Public Library I'm not really sure how this whole series works, but I know that this is the very first book. Or prologue. Or something. I felt that even though C.S Lewis' writing techniques and flow didn't really fit me at parts, it was still highly enjoyable. Polly was a very relatable character, and at times I could visualize her really well. The whole entire spin on what happened "before/at the start of Narnia" is truly an interesting adventure, involving the differences between green and yellow, left and right, good and evil, and such. This bridge into The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe is pretty great, if you ask me. 4/5 stars - @Siri of the Teen Review Board of the Hamilton Public Library Once upon a time, there was a boy named Digory whose uncle was a magician. He created these rings which were made out of magic and that led to several other worlds. Digory’s neighbor was a girl named Polly and they went to Digory’s house to hang out. They soon discovered Digory’s uncle’s magical rings and were told to put them on by Digory’s uncle. When Polly put the yellow ring on, she vanished into thin air. Digory thought she was in danger and went to save her. Before he put on the yellow ring, his uncle told him to put a green ring in his right pocket without telling him the reason why. He carefully slid it in his pocket, and then put on his yellow ring. Digory appeared in a quiet forest where he found Polly. There were pools there which lead to other worlds and they jumped into one. When they entered it, they found themselves in a desolated area. They went into some building and found an enchantment on a stone tablet there with a hammer. Digory smashed the hammer onto the stone tablet and a witch was summoned. At that moment, they were in trouble. - @redninam of the Teen Review Board of the Hamilton Public Library
