Based on a short story by Edgar Allen Poe (which I haven't read), Araby's world was definitely chilling and chaotic. In her world, everyone knew the sickness ran rampant through the streets those who could afford to do so did their best to achieve some kind of oblivion. I really liked how those two aspects played off each other. Even more so as Araby started to explore what it meant to be on both sides of the sickness.
