One of the best-selling female rock stars of all time, the incomparable Pat Benatar writes about her life, rock 'n' roll, and how her generation changed music forever in Between a Heart and a Rock Place. The first solo female rocker ever to appear on MTV, Benatar writes with the same edge and attitude that was a hallmark of her music--from "Heartbreaker" to "Hit Me with Your Best Shot." The winner of four consecutive Grammy Awards for Best Female Rock performance, Pat Benatar tells a fascinating, no-holds-barred story of what it was really like to be a woman in the mostly male world of hard rock in the '80s.

How does a rock star keep grounded and sane? Read this well-written book and find out how one very talented woman has managed to do so. Pat Benatar, a mega recording and performing success in the 1980s, still tours with her husband and musical soulmate, Neil Giraldo. The venues may be smaller, the style sometimes mellower, but they still get stellar reviews and appreciative audiences. I love their jump blues album, "True Love."

amazing read...what a remarkable ground breaking woman! very easy, quick read with lots of humor and anecdotes from a fiery goddess who tells it like it is. She can be a little too humble at times, which is surprising given her incredible fame and success. Niel deserves a lot of credit for the production, but she would have smoked em all regardless.

where would Pat have been without Neil Geraldo?

Enjoyable read. Pat shares her personal struggles as a woman in the rock music industry. Interesting to learn of the history, the stories of her childhood, her home with Mom, Dad, siblings and extended family, husband, and daughters.
