Halo 4 is quite possibly the best Halo game in the entire series.

Jun 18, 2013

In this fourth installment in the Halo series, Bungie, the original developers of the series, have passed the torch over to 343 Industries. While one could think that might drastically change the game itself, 343 does its best to stay true to the series while appealing to the new generation of gamers. The game takes place 4 years after the last one, following the same protagonist, The Master Chief. With the Covenant, a band of alien races sought to destroy our own, mostly wiped out, a new and ancient evil emerges, and it's up to the Chief and Cortana, his AI companion, to once again save the day. At times the plot of the game can become somewhat confusing, especially for newer players to the series. An objective's relationship to the story isn't always clearly explained and someone unfamiliar to the Halo universe might find themselves falling behind in the story. Otherwise, Halo 4's continuation with the Chief's development proves to be solid. For the first time, we see him react in a human-like manner, as opposed to the cold, war-hardened soldier he usually is. Cortana also faces her struggles within herself as her aged, AI mind begins to violently deteriorate. At times her vulnerable self makes her seem more human than Chief, which truly says something about both of their characters and chemistry. One strong suit of the Halo series was its broad arsenal of different weaponry, from from bullet-based weaponry as we know it to alien plasma rifles and grenades. The newer weapons introduced to the game can sometimes be fun and interesting, but a good number of them felt all the same, and lacked a certain “punch” and the more interesting ones often didn't ever come up. A lot of the new mechanics and content introduced in this installment didn't feel like they added anything new to the table and overall pulled it further from its roots.

I haven't played this yet, so don't take my word for it, but I watched the gameplay trailer online and it was awesome!!! It looked fantastic and my computer is a piece of sh** so that makes me think that the graphics are pretty darn good.
